Kelty Late Start 2P Lightweight Backpacking Tent

The Kelty Late Start 2P tent is designed with color-coded attachment points and convenient pole sleeves, making it a breeze to set up for two people. It offers excellent ventilation and reliable durability at an affordable price. With a tapered design measuring 85” x 54” at its widest point, the tent provides an interior area of 29.5 square feet with a peak height of 40 inches. A single vestibule offers 7.85 square feet of storage space, while the two pre-bent aluminum poles create extra room inside. Pockets at each corner of the tent keep the poles secure, preventing them from jumping out of the grommets.

The tent features walls made of No-see-um mesh and a tough 68 denier floor fabric that is water resistant up to 1800 mm. Internal storage includes a ceiling pocket, and the tent body is protected by a waterproof 68 denier rainfly with all seams sealed to keep water out. The freestanding design allows for easy pitching and repositioning for the best site. The tent comes with Kelty’s Shark Mouth stuff sack for easy packing.

For added protection, the custom-fit Kelty Late Start 2P Footprint (sold separately) can be used to shield the tent from wet ground, roots, and rocks. The tent is designed for quick setup with Kelty’s quickcorners and pre-bent aluminum poles. The durable 68D polyester fabrics in the bathtub style floor and flysheet are waterproof and built to last, with a roomy interior that boasts a peak height of up to 56 inches and a simple single door design.

The full coverage rainfly is made of 68D Polyester with a waterproof rating of 1200 mm to provide ample air flow and keep you dry in rough conditions. Kelty is committed to protecting natural spaces and uses DWR/PFC Free fabrics and coatings in their tents to reduce waste and environmental impact. The tent also includes 1 door, 1 vestibule, inner gear pockets, featherlight stakes, and a 2-pole setup for convenience. The 1P model offers 20.6 sq. ft. with a peak height of 37 inches, the 2P model provides 30 sq. ft. with a peak height of 40 inches, and the 4P model offers 56 sq. ft. with a peak height of 56 inches.
